Governance

HACT is governed by a Board of Trustees who meet at least quarterly to oversee the organisation’s finances and strategy, and to lend their wisdom and advice to the organisation. All HACT’s Trustees are volunteers, with the exception of the CEO. The following Trustees currently make up our Board:

  • Candace Davidson - CEO of Hillcrest AIDS Centre Trust
  • Julie Hornby -  previous CEO of Hillcrest AIDS Centre Trust (Chair)
  • Linda Knox - founding CEO of Hillcrest AIDS Centre Trust
  • Reverend Michael Vorster - Methodist Bishop of KwaZulu Natal
  • Reverend Andrew Robinson - Minister of Hillcrest Methodist Church (Vice Chair)
  • Reverend Gary Thompon - Minister of Hillcrest Anglican Church
  • Michael Mkhize - local community member
  • Dr Stephen Carpenter - HIV/AIDS medical doctor
  • Sbusisiwe Myeni - community development and risk-management expert
  • John Lund - long-standing HACT employee (Secretary, non-voting)

The Trust has an annual external audit, and has earned itself a credible track record over the years for financial accountability.
