The aim of HACT’s Hope Club is to raise much needed funds for the organisation’s Respite Unit which provides free inpatient care to children and adults suffering from advanced stages of AIDS and or AIDS-related cancers. Anyone, aged 18 and over who is a South African citizen is eligible to join the Club and stands a chance of winning one of three cash prizes that are given away every month. Membership costs just R50 a month that can be paid by debit order or EFT. The Club’s membership is also open to local businesses, churches and special interest groups. Speaking of the Club and its impact at the inaugural draw, HACT’s CEO, Candace Davidson said; “It’s campaigns such as the Hope Club that are helping us to keep the doors to our centre open every month and ensure those in desperate need of help can access our life-saving services. We urge the local public to get involved and show their support by signing up!”
