Position Title: Assistant Operations Officer (Woza Moya)
Hillcrest AIDS Centre Trust’s Economic Empowerment Project, Woza Moya, seeks to employ an Assistant Operations Officer who will help with planning, coordinating, and executing operations.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Experience with Operations and Project Management: Proven track record in handling operational tasks and managing projects.
- Overseeing System Controls and Process-Driven: Ability to implement and maintain control systems, ensuring processes are efficient and effective.
- Strong Managerial and Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage staff, and oversee daily operations.
- Good Verbal and Written Communication Skills: Proficient in communicating clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail in all tasks.
- Good with Numbers and Basic Maths: Comfortable handling numerical data and performing basic mathematical calculations.
- Basic Accounting Knowledge: Understanding of fundamental accounting principles.
- Computer Proficiency: Skilled in using computers, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with Stock Control: Familiarity with managing and controlling stock inventory.
- Strong Work Ethic: High standards of integrity and honesty.
- Flexibility and Adaptability: Ability to adapt to dynamic environments and a willingness to learn new skills.
- Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license with a minimum of 3 years of driving experience (own car would be an advantage).
Skills and Qualifications:
- Education: Degree or diploma preferred; alternatively, a matric certificate with at least 4 years’ experience in stock control.
- Knowledge of Pastel: Familiarity with using Pastel accounting software.
- Conversational isiZulu: Basic understanding and ability to communicate in isiZulu.
- Independent and Team Player: Capable of working both independently and collaboratively.
- Positive Attitude and Self-Starter: Motivated with a proactive approach to tasks.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and solve problems efficiently and take accountability for actions.
- Excellent Time-Management Skills: Ability to manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
Working hours:
- Schedule: 08h00 to 16h00, Monday to Friday
