Volunteers Ndumiso Shangase (left) and Miss Teen KwaZulu Natal Nhlanzeko Khanyile (seated) and Receptionist Kanyule Chamane (right) spent the day sorting donated clothes that will be given to needy families. Miss Teen is seated on the Dreams 4 Africa beaded chair, and the beaded map of Africa is on the wall behind them. These are products of the Woza Moya craft project – an income generation project of the Hillcrest AIDS Centre Trust.

Hillcrest AIDS Centre Trust (HACT) attracts many volunteers, from both Hillcrest and surrounding areas, and from overseas.  On 13 March, Nhlanzeko Khanyile, the 2012 Miss Teen KwaZulu-Natal, volunteered her time as part of the Kloof High School community service programme.

The Hillcrest AIDS Centre’s Respite Unit now has four brand new wheel chairs, thanks to the generosity of the Kloof Rotary Club.


Presenting........the world's first beaded suit!

The Hillcrest AIDS Centre’s income generation craft project, Woza Moya, this week revealed the world’s first beaded suit. The suit was handmade by over 40 women from several communities in the Valley of 1000 Hills region, and is made up of over 400 individual patches of bead work.
