Vacancy: Marketing & Communications Coordinator

HACT seeks to employ a part-time Marketing & Communications Coordinator who will play a key role in ensuring the organization achieves its plans for growth and sustainability in alignment with its mission, vision and values.

The Marketing & Communications Coordinator will report directly to the organisation’s CEO and will be responsible for developing and implementing HACT’s marketing and communications strategies and plans, the day-to-day management of HACT’s rapidly growing social media presence, PR as well as planning and overseeing the organisation’s busy calendar of campaigns and events.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage and grow HACT’s social media presence through the sourcing and/or design of relevant content and the drafting and scheduling of daily posts as well as replying promptly to all messages and queries
  • Produce professional, high quality marketing and communication materials in the form of newsletters, adverts, flyers, online content and signage for HACT and its various projects and programmes
  • Update and maintain HACT’s website and work closely with HACT’s Fundraising & Operations Manager to plan and deliver regular digital and crowdfunding campaigns
  • Compile and distribute press releases and build long-term relationships with the media
  • Assist with the planning, promotion and delivery of HACT’s numerous fundraising and marketing campaigns and events including those related to HACT’s annual Comrades charity campaign
  • Represent the organisation confidently at external events and deliver engaging talks and tours for the organisation’s key donors, partners and stakeholders

Skills and Qualifications:

To succeed in this exciting and highly rewarding role, you will need passion, energy and commitment. You must be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within a small, close-knit team and be able to thrive in a busy, fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. It is also critical that you are able to work and communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.

  • 3-5 years of relevant professional experience in marketing and/or communications
  • Bachelor’s degree or professional qualification in a related field, such as marketing, communications, journalism or public relations would be highly advantageous
  • Experience working with or in the non profit sector would be highly advantageous
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and proofreading skills
  • Proven results in implementing marketing and communications strategic plans
  • Proven results in managing and growing social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube etc.)
  • Proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while managing tight deadlines
  • Integrity and a strong commitment to HACT’s mission and values
  • Passionate and proactive
  • A valid driver’s license is essential and own vehicle would be advantageous
  • Able to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings and weekends as required in order to oversee HACT’s campaigns & events
